Kick-off Ceremony of Chung Chi College Mentor Programme 2026 (7/3/2026)
The Kick-off Ceremony of Chung Chi College Mentor Programme 2026 was held on Saturday, March 7, at the CK Tse Room of Chung Chi College. The ceremony began with a welcome address by College Head Professor Kwan Mei-po. This was followed by speeches from Mr. To Yat Hong, Vice-President of the Chung Chi College Alumni Association, and Mr. Wong Kim man, Chairman of the Mentor Programme Committee.
This year’s “Local Mentor Programme” sees the participation of 64 mentors and over 100 students, with 6 alumni newly joining as local mentors. Meanwhile, the “Non-local Mentor Programme” involves 20 mentors and nearly 30 students, including 4 alumni newly joining as non-local mentors.
Each year, the College specially acknowledges mentors who have served the programme for ten or twenty years at the Kick-off Ceremony. This year, mentors who have served this programme for 10 years include Mr. Chan Ka Kit and Mr. Mak Chi Hoi. mentors who have served this programme for 20 years include Dr. Lo Pik Yu and Ms. So Suk Ching. Professor Kwan presented souvenirs to the mentors with ten years of service on behalf of the College and invited them to share their reflections. The two mentors with twenty years of service were unable to attend due to other commitments.
Furthermore, the College specially invited one newly joined local mentor Mr. Ma Man Hon, and one newly joined non-local mentor Mr. Wong Chun Hing to share their reasons and initial intentions for becoming mentors. This embodies the spirit of passing on knowledge and experience across generations.
First launched in 1999, the programme is now in its 27th year. The College sincerely thanks the alumni for their tremendous support over the years, and for their dedicated care and guidance to students. Through their efforts, students, on their learning and growth journey, can find a companion who is both a mentor and a friend.
