GECC3130 Exploration and Discovery: Hope for the Future: Green and Sustainable Hong Kong (2024/25, Term 2)

 

Introduction and Objectives

Do we still have hope for the future? Chung Chi College General Education launches an Exploration and Discovery (GECC3130) course "Hope for the Future: Green and Sustainable Hong Kong" in Term 2, 2024/25 . The course features the synergy of field trips, master lectures, and group project. Students will learn through first-hand experiences as well as guided study. After taking the course, students will be able to enhance relevant knowledge and equip themselves with competence for further exploring ideas and practices for a green and sustainable Hong Kong.

Extreme weather, urban planning, green building, heritage conservation, design entrepreneurship, waste and emission reduction

 

Language

This course and the study trip involved will be conducted in Cantonese

Eligibility

  • In the 2nd year of attendance or above (for students with a normative study period of 3 years or more)
  • No constraints on study year (for students with a normative study period of 2 years, applicable to those admitted in 2023/24 and before)

Application Method

Each applicant shall provide a short statement explaining the reasons and expectations of joining the course in the online application, on which selection will be based.  

                                                                                                                                    

Fee and deposit of the trip

  • Each participant shall pay a programme fee of HK$200 for taking part in the study trip, inclusive of field visits and transportation on certain dates.  
  • A deposit of HK$500 is also required. It is refundable upon satisfactory completion of the study trip. 
  • In an event of withdrawal, the fee and deposit made will all be forfeited.

  • Announcement of selection result (2nd round): 2024.11.12 (Tue)
  • Payment deadline (for 2nd round): 2024. 11 13 (Wed)
  • The General Education Office of the College will handle the course registration for selected students who have completed the payment.
