University Labyrinth
We proudly unveil Hong Kong’s first labyrinth among universities. This is a joint endeavor of the Office of Student Affairs and Chung Chi College. Located on the 4/F of Pommerenke Student Centre, the University Labyrinth has been carefully tailored to the environment, allowing the space to interact with the body and mind. It is open for use by all members of The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The Labyrinth is a resting place for mindful walking. With its intricate design upon the ground, it welcomes you into its embrace through winding paths. The Labyrinth invites you to slow your pace, rest, and reflect. Unlike a maze, there is only one path that serves as both the entrance and exit. You need only focus on your breath, follow your footsteps, relax your mind and body, and allow your thoughts to settle.
You can also gain insights by observing the nature around you. Entering the heart of the Labyrinth is an invitation to return to your inner self, to reconnect your body and mind, and to nurture your spirituality. From the heart of the Labyrinth, retrace your steps, carrying the experience with you, becoming aware of the present moment, and gaining wisdom for life.
Labyrinth Walking Guide
While walking, participants with religious beliefs can engage in a conversation with the divine being, while those without can introspect and listen to their heart.
Regardless of your religious beliefs, you can have spiritual, mental, or psychological experiences, or no experience at all.
After your walk, take the time to write down your experiences and thoughts, if any. Savor the moment or share it with your friends.
