A Tale of Two Cities: Talent Plus between Shanghai & Hong Kong 2025

Theme:

Shanghai and Hong Kong Socio-Cultural Study --- Chung Chi College (CUHK) & Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE)

 

Activity Overview:

Chung Chi College and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics are collaborating for the second time to organize a student visitor program. Through a series of thematic lectures, field trips, and cultural experiential activities, students will expand their knowledge and perspectives, deepen mutual understanding and interaction between students from both locations, and explore the opportunities and challenges in the social and cultural development of Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Quota:

16 students from Chung Chi College (interview is required)

16 students from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics

 

Language:

Putonghua, Cantonese

 

Activities:

  • Chung Chi College students visit Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and host the return visit of the university's students to Hong Kong.
  • Students from both locations engage in group discussions, participate in thematic lectures, field trips, and cultural experiential activities in Shanghai and Hong Kong.
  • Shanghai field trips: Shanghai Tower, Night Cruise at Huangpu River, World Skills Museum, Shanghai Data Exchange, ByteDance Limited., Yuanneng Cell Technology Group Co., Ltd, etc.
  • Hong Kong field trips: Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal, HKSTP Experience Centre, City Gallery, etc.
  • Eligible students can enroll to the College upper-year General Education course GECC3130 “Exploration and Discovery” (E&D, 3 credits).

In 2025/26:

  • In 2nd year of attendance or above (for students with a normative study period of 3 years or more)
  • No constraints on study year (for students with a normative study period of 2 years, applicable to those admitted in 2023/24 and before)

 

Fee & Deposit (after EYE Award subsidy): 

HKD$2,800 (including accommodation, field trips, excluding flight ticket)

A deposit of HKD$800 is refundable upon completion of programme; in case of withdrawal from the programme, the deposit will not be refunded.

Participants can be reimbursed 50% of the airfare (maximum HK$1,500)
