Dreaming Through Chung Chi Scheme

The Dreaming Through Chung Chi Scheme helps students realize their dreams that can enrich their experience and knowledge. Interested students should submit their applications with detailed proposals.

1. OBJECTIVE

The Scheme offers an opportunity for Chung Chi students to realize their dreams that can enrich their experience and knowledge. Awardees of the scheme will be granted financial subsidies and also administrative support from the College to make their dreams come true. Some past “dream comes true” cases are a service trip to West Africa to encourage local children to go after their dreams; a concert to share the awardee’s own creations and his experience of visiting the homeless; a photo exhibition to showcase 365 photos taken by the awardee over a year to encourage viewers to appreciate people and things around.

2. SUBSIDY

Up to 80% of the proposed budget or HK$30,000, whichever is lower.

Remarks:

Subsidy of the Scheme is provided on a reimbursement basis after the completion of the Project with the submission of official receipts and reports.
The subsidy cannot be used in (1) any purchase of hardware products (eg. electronic appliances), (2) employment, (3) payment of salary, (4) meals fee, and (5) traveling fee.

3. ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION MATERIALS REQUIRED

All full-time Chung Chi undergraduates are welcome to apply.

Application materials (written in Chinese or English):
- Proposal (expressing the dream in not more than 2,000 words, including the name and reason for the Dream, objectives, detailed description, schedule, and timeline, etc.)
- Feasibility Assessment (in 1 page)
- Budget Plan
- Any other supplementary materials deemed necessary

Remarks:

A detailed proposal and presentation may be required after the first round of selection.
The selected project must be completed by the graduation date of the student.
Should the selected project last for more than six months, the student is obliged to submit an interim progress report.
A final report and a poster are to be submitted within two months after the completion of the selected project.
The awardees should make a 3-5 minute video upon the completion of the project, including the background and introduction of the project, the process of achieving the dream, and sharing what have learned in the progress. Please provide a brief caption of your video (around 100 words in English and 100 words in Chinese).
The recipients may be invited to give an oral presentation of their projects in a College Assembly.

4. SUBMISSION AND DATE FOR APPLICATION

Deadline of application for 2024-2025: 4 FEB 2025 (TUE). The selection is arranged in late-February or early-March.
