1. Scholarship and Bursary for Children of Chung Chi Staff


Application Deadline: November 15, 2024 (Friday)

 

The following scholarship and bursary designated for children of Chung Chi staff members are now open for application. Application forms can be obtained from the Student Development Office or at the link below.

 

  • Leung Fung Yee Scholarship

Two awards of HK$10,000 each will be awarded to children of Chung Chi College staff members, who are under 25 years old and are full-time first-year undergraduates in either local or overseas universities with excellent academic results in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examinations in 2024. Preference will be given to applicants who are attending a local university and who are children of Terms (B) or (C) staff.

  • Wong Fook Luen Memorial Bursary

Two bursaries of HK$2,000 each will be awarded to children of Chung Chi College staff members, who are under 25 years old and are full-time undergraduates in one of the local UGC-funded universities. The recipients should be with satisfactory academic performance and in financial need. Preference will be given to applicants who are children of Terms (B) or (C) staff.

2. CUHK Convocation Outstanding Services Awards 2024/2025


Application Deadline: December 8, 2024 (Sunday)

 

The “CUHK Convocation Outstanding Community / Campus Services Awards 2024/2025” are now open for applications. These awards target full-time undergraduate students in their second year or above, from any disciplines, who demonstrate active and enthusiastic participation in promoting community and/or campus services.

 

The College will nominate students to compete with nominees from other Colleges for the following two awards of $10,000 each.

Number and Value of Awards

Up to four awards of HK$10,000 each.

 

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Applicants must be full-time Year 2 or above undergraduate students^ of any discipline.

 

For Outstanding Community Services Award, the students should:

  • have records of active and enthusiastic participation and promotion of community services;
  • have outstanding contribution to the community; and
  • have demonstrated outstanding leadership and organizational abilities.

 

For Outstanding Campus Services Award, the students should:

  • have records of active and enthusiastic participation and promotion of campus-wide, college based, or departmental extra-curricular or academic activities;
  • have outstanding contributions to the university, college or department; and
  • have demonstrated outstanding leadership and organizational abilities.

 

^ Final-year students who will graduate after completing their undergraduate studies at the end of Term 1 of 2024/25 are NOT eligible to apply for this award.

 

Application Procedures

  • The completed application form, along with all the required documents, should be submitted to the Scholarships Committee of Chung Chi College by December 8, 2024 (Sunday) via email (ccc_scholarship@cuhk.edu.hk):

Application Form

The application form should be typed (except signature) in English, unless otherwise specified, and signed. Handwritten form will NOT be accepted. If the item(s) in the form is/are not applicable, ‘'N/A” should be marked.

Personal Statement

A typed personal statement to elaborate the services and contributions.

  • The statement should be in English of not more than 500 words.
  • Number of words should be indicated at the end of the statement.

Documentary proofs for ALL the services mentioned in Section D of the application form, e.g. copies of certificates/letters/emails.

  • Your name, service period, name of the organization and position held should be shown and highlighted.
  • Full content of your proof(s) is required. Please do not just extract part of the content. For example, you have to submit the complete email instead of a paragraph extracted from it.
  • Please sort the supporting documents in the same order as they are listed on the application form AND have their corresponding numbers (e.g. D1; D2 etc.) marked on the right-handed corner of each proof.
  • Please DO NOT use a digital camera or smart phone to take snapshot of the supporting documents. Otherwise, these supporting documents may be considered invalid.

Latest Academic Transcript

  • Unofficial transcript is acceptable
  • For applicants who had participated in overseas exchange programmes: A photocopy of academic transcripts with Explanation Notes of Grading System on an Exchange Programme (if applicable). 

 

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in the first-round selection interview conducted by the College in January 2025, and the final interview conducted by the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid between March and May 2025.
