1975 Chung Chi Choir

In the early days, Christmas celebration events of Chung Chi were jointly organised by the College Student Union and Student Christian Fellowship. There was a choir under the Fellowship. Apart from singing hymns on the campus, students also preached the gospel during this festive season. The College organised Christmas music worship. The choir not only prepared for this event, but also kept rehearsing Christmas songs to strive for the best performance. The Choir arranged for College students to join the carolling on Christmas Eve. They lined up at the College and marched to the villages in Ma Liu Shui to sing carols to villagers and send them warm greetings and sincere blessings. Today, Chung Chi students still preserve the tradition of Christmas carolling. When it’s nearly Christmas every year, participants put on choir robes and hold candlelight, and go around the campus to sing Christmas songs and share the joy of Christmas with the CUHK community.
