We, CC The Suns, are already gearing up for our second overseas volunteer service trip! 😍📢 This time, our service theme is “Let’s ‘Sri’ the world”. Can you guess where we're heading to? 🤩
That's right! It's Sri Lanka! (ﾉ˶>ᗜ<˵)ﾉ🇱🇰🥳
We'll be heading to a small town in a remote mountain area 👣🌄, rarely visited by foreigners. So, this service trip isn't just a great opportunity for us to understand the local education and culture 📚🧐, but also a chance for local youth and children to interact with more outsiders and different cultures! Besides teaching, we've also prepared various cultural exchange activities for participants, (◍˃̶ᗜ˂̶◍)ﾉ"☀, like tea planting🪴, temple visits🛕, and community service at an elephant sanctuary🐘, to explore this unique place from different areas.😚

The following is the details of the trip:🔎

Date: 21 Dec – 30 Dec 2024 (10 Days 9 Nights)

Destination: Sri Lanka Nawalapitiya

Service Target: Teenagers and preschoolers in Nawalapitiya

Recruitment Target: CUHK Undergraduate Students (ANY college are welcome!) (Non-members are required to pay an additional annual membership fee of $25.)

Quota: 10

Content: Joining workshops, designing teaching content, volunteer teaching, cultural exchange activities (tea planting, local families and temples visiting, etc.), and community service (volunteering at an elephant sanctuary).

Workshops:

Accepted applicants are required to attend around 5 workshops, with at least 80% attendance rate.

Tentative date for the first workshop: 3/10 (Thursday) 18:45-21:30, with the remaining workshops tentatively scheduled for Tuesday evenings from late October to mid-December.

Tour Fee: $9,500 (This trip is funded by I-Care, hence the trip fee may be subject to adjustments.)(including air ticket, accommodation, three meals a day, local transportation, agent fees, etc.)

Reservation Fee: $6,000 (part of the tour fee, which will be collected after interview for the use of purchasing air tickets)
