Chung Chi Chinese Reading Club
The activity for Chinese language enhancement programme: 4th CC Chinese reading club, will be held on 24th Jun. The CC Chinese reading club is organized by the teachers from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature: Prof. WONG Nim Yan, Prof. SIU Chun Ho and Dr. MAN Ying Ha.
This month, we will share Ms. Eileen Chang’s classic novel "Love in a Fallen City." The selected book "Love in a Fallen City (Centennial Memorial Edition of Ms. Eileen Chang)" also includes famous articles such as "Aloeswood Incense: The First Brazier," "The Heart Sutra," "The Blockade," and "The Golden Cangue." Through the reading club, participants can discuss the characters, plot, historical and social background of the book, think about how "Tune of Chang" influenced a generation of authors, and the significance of reading Ms. Eileen Chang's novels nowadays.
In order to encourage students to read, full-time undergraduate students of Chung Chi College who signed up for the reading club will receive the novel for free. Registered students can collect their books from the University bookstore - The Commercial Press with their receipt of deposit, confirmation email and the student ID card. Quota for free book is limited. First come, first served. Refreshments are also provided during the reading club.
