Come enjoy some amazing performances at Midday Oasis! On January 20, Zheng Yang (Violin, City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong), Tan Cong (Cello, Instructor at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts) & Vincci Chan (Piano, Young Steinway Artist) will perform Mendelssohn-Bartholdy’s complete Piano Trio No.1 in D minor, Op. 49, a masterpiece hailed as ‘the master trio of the age’ by Robert Schumann in 1839. On January 27, Saxophonic Apprentices, an ensemble comprised of local saxophone performance major students from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and other universities under the direction of Prof. Wong Tak Chiu, will bring you excerpt from Handel’s Water Music Suite No.1 in F Major, HWV 348, Eric Whitacre’s October, and movements from Benjamin Britten’s Simple Symphony, Op. 4.
